I love going to the gym just as much as I love dates and luckily for me, those two go very well together. Every time I go to the gym, I eat a date or two before leaving the house. I believe that it gives me the energy boost I need to give my best and challenge myself. And it’s not just a feeling: dates really are a great workout snack. Thanks to their high sugar content, they give you immediate, but long-lasting energy. Dates contain a lot of fibers, minerals and vitamins, but virtually no fat. The components help building muscle, strengthen the bones and are good for the digestive system. Dates are a much better pre- or post-workout snack than energy bars or processed foods since they’re totally natural and don’t contain any additional sugar or sweetener.
