Our 10 favourites:

So many date varieties – and all so incredibly delicious! We know it can be hard to choose, which is why we’ve put together a sampler pack of our 10 favourite dates. This date sampler pack gives you the chance to try 10 different date varieties: Sukari Soft (800g), Tiwi-Sufri (800g), Safawi (800g), Mabroom (800g), Segai (800g), Anbara (700g), Ajwa (800g), Medjool from Saudi Arabia (800g), Medjool from Jordan (1000g) and Deglet Nour (1000g). Delicious to the power of ten!

A brief overview of the date varieties included:

Sukari Soft – the royal dates, as they are also called, are cone-shaped and have a wrinkled skin. Their colour is a rich brown with golden yellow tones and they have a caramel-like, fruity taste with a silky aftertaste of honey. Sukari Cooking in particular are excellent for cooking and baking.

Safawi have a beautiful dark brown colour. They are rather firm and have a fine taste, slightly reminiscent of coffee.

Mabroom are delicious, sweet, sticky and have a wonderful aroma reminiscent of caramel. Their skin is bronze-red and they have an intense, pleasant taste. They are not dry, but clearly firmer than many other varieties, they are even quite hard. We think this candy-like consistency is exactly what makes these dates special.

Segai are medium-sized, two-coloured dates. One end is golden and rather dry and crunchy, while the rest of the date is juicy and brown. This unexpected combination makes segai an absolutely delicious date variety.

Anbara have a dark colour and a finely textured skin. They are rather juicy, soft and very aromatic. The flesh is tender and yet almost a little crunchy. Anbara are relatively large dates, but light and not very sweet, making them a treat at any time of day.

Ajwa are a special variety from the Medina region in Saudi Arabia. They have a unique round shape and a deep red, almost black colour. Ajwa are much drier than other date varieties and have a strong aroma and fine texture and a soft, silky sweetness.

Medjool are very large dates. Their flesh is firm and juicy and they have a thin, fine skin. Medjool are sweet and taste a little like caramel. In this tasting package you will find two varieties of Medjool dates from different farmers. The Medjool dates from Saudi Arabia are a little more chewy and the Medjool dates from Jordan are a little sweeter.

Deglet Nour are relatively large, uniformly brown dates. They have a very fine skin and are soft but crunchy. They have a very pleasant, sweet and fruity taste.

Tiwi Sufri! Here comes the healthy version of the caramel chewy sweet. The dates have a caramel taste, a pleasant sweetness and a texture reminiscent of a chewy candy.
